Mission of the Lae Lae Collection
The collection is designed as an interactive learning program. It empowers children to explore their natural curiosity about the world and to develop a caring attitude. The collection gently teaches positive values in a simple and fun way.
It has been proven that reading to a child for twenty minutes a day can make a huge positive difference in the child’s life. It helps the child develop language skills, increase listening ability and enjoy inquisitive thinking. It also encourages a child’s creativity and exposes them to new concepts and experiences.
The collection is designed for children from two to six yrs old and is suitable in different ways as the child grows. At the earliest age the books encourage the adult/child “cuddle time” essential for the youngest children. As the child matures, the books encourage the love of reading and communicating through words. Through the notes and teachable moments, the child and adult share information and a learning experience.
"I am a mother; I have a degree in Child Development and I have been involved in my husband’s pediatric practice for over 20 years. In thousands of families that have passed through our office, I have seen that the children best adjusted are those whose families show their love by doing activities with their children, especially reading. Reading with your children makes family ties stronger; opens new horizons, teaches the young ones new concepts, vocabulary, morals, and ethics. It is because of these reasons that I am writing in support of Laurenn’s books. I think she goes a long way in helping children and families to thrive."

The Collection is Winner of a Family Choice Award recognizing the best in children's and parenting products
The collection Focuses on the Following: Diversity and the oneness of children everywhere. Lae Lae's little group of friends are from the United States, Colombia, India, Italy, Ireland, Ethiopia, India and Japan. They all play and learn together.
Children will be encouraged in several areas:
1. English Language Art/Literacy Skills; they will be asked:
• to ask and answer questions about key story details • to retell, add to or create a new related story in their own words • to identify upper and lower case letters • to identify characters and events in the story • to learn new and unfamiliar words • to read common, high frequency words by sight • to sound out and spell simple words phonetically
2. Mathematics/Counting/Geometry skills; they will be asked:
• to count and tell the number of objects • to understand the counting sequence • to identify and describe shapes • to compose shapes to form larger shapes • to compare and create objects
All of this will be achieved through stories and related activities to learn and practice these skills. The goal of the books is to help the children grow into responsible, thoughful and caring adults.
