A Very Big Word

Hi it's Zoe. Today I'd like to talk about procrastination. This is a big word for putting something off and then rushing to do it at the last minute. My grandmother said, "Procrastination is the thief of time." I understand that to mean that procrastinating will take up lots of time. I unfortunately procrastinate a lot. I have many things that I put off until the last minute like chores and homework such as my science project, and even my blog! It's fun to play and watch T.V. rather than do some of these things and before I know it, I'm in a rush trying to get them done.

Here are some ways I think I could avoid procrastinating. I think I should be determined not to put things off. I mean I need to keep the idea in my mind about doing these things right away and not wait to do them. Or maybe, I could create rewards for doing my chores and homework first. This would help me not to put them off. I should talk to mommy and daddy and ask them if I could get extra game playing time or maybe a treat of some sort as a reward for doing my chores and homework first.  I know that would help me, and maybe it would help you too.

Another reason to avoid procrastination is because you want to do well with certain things like homework. I think that  if you have homework and you do it last minute you probably won't do a very good job because you are in a hurry and you might make mistakes. I do sometimes.  I think it's important not to let that happen because I always want to do well in school. Getting good grades is very important to me. I know I'm not perfect and I will have to work on this.

I'm pretty sure procrastinating is a very bad habit that many people have to fix. I know I have to. Maybe, you do too. Well, I hope this blog has helped you think of ways to fight procrastination. Maybe you could share them with me. Or leave a comment. I'd love to hear from you. Bye!

Check out the pictures of me working with my daddy on  my science project. What a mess we made! We were testing which was strongest; an egg on its side or an egg placed upright. Guess what? An egg standing upright is stronger.
