My dogs are members of the family. Each one has her own personality and dynamic with the other two. Recently, I decided to walk each one separately (easier to control), on a regular basis, to offset my "treat-giving guilt". This is what I call the guilt I feel when I give the dogs food treats instead of walking them. Replacing my guilt with exercise has turned out to be a wonderful arrangement. I get fit, and so do the dogs, and I learn French along the way. Voila!
I listen to a free podcast called "Coffee Break French" on iTunes, which has lessons that average 15 minutes apiece. It's brilliant! I'm a Frankophile - a person who is fond of or greatly admires France or the French. I daydream of strolling in Paris or walking the promenade in Nise. J'adore France! Which means, "I adore France".
I believe in lifelong learning, and learning French is one of the hardest things I have done. It just doesn't come easily to me, but repetition is key. I have the time and the desire to learn the language, so I just keep at it. I believe it's working. I find myself repeating the phrases and studying the words long after I have finished walking the dogs. It's a thrilling feeling. What better way to spend the time.
À la prochaine, être bien!
