I love to dance and I dance with childish abandon. I'm not very good but I love to feel the rhythm and move to it. I also like to sing but can't do that very well so I just listen to music that I love. My son both sings and dances well and he loves to entertain. Such was the occasion at my nephew's five year old birthday party recently. Although there was a professional duo hired for the party, all of a sudden my son was up there dancing and singling with them. He led the children in some rollicking songs and, as he sang, they played along with their drums and tambourines. It was great fun.
As we go through these stressful and divisive times, it is good to take time to get back to the things that we loved in childhood and I have never seen a child who didn't love music, song and dance (although some might take a little more encouragement to dance or sing than others do.) It releases those feel good endorphins and keeps us "young at heart". Here's to singing and dancing!!
