Warm Fuzzies

A fun and very easy little children's project to show appreciation to someone they love for all that they do (that maybe sometimes doesn't get expressed) .

From the dollar store or craft store, buy construction paper, a bag of little fuzzy balls, some stick on foam hearts and some funky little button eyes.  Cut the construction paper into quarters and give one card to each child.  Let the children choose a fuzzy ball and a pair of eyes. They can then glue the eyes on the fuzzy ball with a dot of glue and after that glue the fuzzy ball to a heart to make a beak for the "fuzzy bird" (paper glue works fine - just not too much).  Then they can use more hearts to decorate the card.

Encourage the children to think of a "warm fuzzy" message that they want to express and help them write it on the card.

The children can then put their "warm fuzzy" cards in a special place to surprise someone and brighten their day.  They make wonderful little appreciation cards to lay beside a  dinner plate, on a desk or by a bed as a sweet surprise.  Maybe they could even be put in a secret place that no one will suspect - like the laundry room or the refrigerator where Mom cleans the clothes or has the food that we love. Or maybe by Dad's tool box, fishing gear or lawnmower. Just a gesture to let them know they are loved and appreciated.

Expressing a warm fuzzy thought is good for both the giver and the receiver.  We all need warm fuzzies in our lives.
